🤯 LobeHub is your Chief Agent Operator, organizing your agents into 7×24 operations by hiring, scheduling, and reporting on your entire AI team.
How lobehub is put together
LobeHub is an open-source AI agent/chat framework delivered as a large TypeScript pnpm-workspace monorepo. The primary application is a Next.js server-rendered app (src/) whose interactive clients are prebuilt as multiple Vite/Rolldown SPAs (web, auth, mobile, share, workbench) copied into public/_spa* and served by Next. A Hono-based backend lives in apps/server, an Electron desktop app in apps/desktop, a published CLI in apps/cli, and Cloudflare-deployed React Router apps in apps/share and apps/workbench. Shared workspace packages provide the database layer (Drizzle ORM over PostgreSQL), builtin agent tools with six registered client-side UI surfaces (inspector/render/placeholder/streaming/intervention/portal), and tool/device runtimes; authentication is handled via Better Auth with configurable cookie prefixes.

Major components
Next.js core app (src/)
Server-rendered LobeHub application including Better Auth configuration (src/auth.ts), initialization, instrumentation, and serving the prebuilt SPA bundles.
apps/desktop (Electron)
Cross-platform desktop client with main/preload/renderer Vite builds, native deps (node-pty, screenshots, mac permissions), auto-update via electron-updater, and integration with device-control/sandbox/local-file-shell workspace packages.
apps/server (Hono backend)
Standalone Hono HTTP server built with Vite (viteHonoBuild.config.ts) and run in dev via vite-node.
apps/cli (@lobehub/cli)
Published npm CLI ('lh'/'lobe'/'lobehub') built with tsdown, embedding gateway/tool-runtime/device-control workspace clients and bundling ws for desktop-embedded use.
packages/builtin-tools
Builtin agent tools each shipping up to six client-side UI surfaces (Inspector, Render, Placeholder, Streaming, Intervention, Portal) registered in central files like inspectors.ts and renders.ts; reference implementations in builtin-tool-web-browsing and builtin-tool-local-system.
packages/database
Drizzle ORM schema definitions (packages/database/src/schemas) and SQL migrations (packages/database/migrations) targeting PostgreSQL, managed via drizzle-kit and migrateServerDB scripts.
apps/share & apps/workbench
Standalone React Router applications deployed to Cloudflare Workers via wrangler, built with dedicated Vite configs.
Dev/self-hosting infrastructure
docker-compose stacks (dev: postgresql, redis, rustfs, searxng; deploy variants with .env examples) and workflow scripts under scripts/ for migrations, i18n, changelog, and release automation.

Over the past month, LobeHub has been building out an ambitious autonomous-agent layer: a durable goals system with acceptance checks, a 'heterogeneous agent' that lets Claude Code and Codex run on relay models, and self-evolving expertise data. Alongside that, the team shipped user-facing polish like realtime voice dictation, an avatar studio, and desktop OTA updates, while steadily fixing reliability issues around message delivery, task recovery, and model routing. The arc shows a shift from foundational schema and infrastructure work in early August toward hardening, branding, and distribution-ready features by late August.
Week by week
2026-08-24A quieter week focused on making the new artifact-sharing, goal-recovery, and desktop update features production-ready.latest6 changes
Feature
Product-origin artifact share page
Users can now share generated artifacts on a dedicated public page that shows where the work came from.
Feature
Desktop hot updates without restart
The desktop app can now apply renderer updates over the air without forcing users to close and reopen it.
Fix
Safer recovery of abandoned goal work
Goals that were interrupted mid-run can now be picked back up safely instead of being lost.
Feature
Autonomous work recovery with final acceptance
The goal system gained the ability to resume stalled autonomous work and verify results before declaring completion.
Feature
Platform-based gateway routing
Message gateway connections are now routed according to which platform (web or desktop) they come from.
Fix
Dead topic lock no longer swallows messages
Fixed a bug where a stuck conversation lock could silently prevent sent messages from going through.
2026-08-17An intense week of work on the heterogeneous-agent system, letting external coding tools like Codex and Claude Code run on relay models end to end.6 changes
Feature
Relay models for Codex and Claude Code
External coding agents can now be powered by relay-provided models, including tool-capable ones for Claude Code.
Feature
Durable goal graph runtime
Goals moved onto their own database table with a CLI-driven graph runtime, making them persistent first-class entities.
Feature
Acceptance gating for goal tasks
Goal-driven work tasks must now pass acceptance checks before being marked complete.
Feature
Scheduled task view
Recurring scheduled tasks got their own dedicated view, separate from regular task lists.
Fix
Attachments reach Telegram and WeChat
Pushed file attachments were previously failing to arrive in messaging apps; they now deliver correctly.
Fix
Oversize images no longer lost in messenger
Large images used to degrade into a silent download link; they are now handled properly.
2026-08-10A big release week introducing self-evolving agent expertise, realtime voice dictation, and a reworked resource library.6 changes
Feature
Realtime voice dictation in chat
Users can now dictate messages by voice directly into the chat input as they speak.
Feature
Self-evolving expertise data layer
Agents gained a learning system with its own data schema, ingestion backend, and a page to manage what they've learned.
Feature
Library-style resource home with Files category
Resources are now browsable via path-based categories, including a new Files section.
Feature
Rich agent push notifications
Notifications from agents can now carry richer payloads so alerts are more informative.
